Could Kyler Murray be wearing a new uniform in 2026?

ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler believes so, as he has his sights on two franchises that could make the big play for the former No. 1 overall pick in the offseason.

Following news today that some executives don’t believe that the top of this year’s QB class is worth building a franchise around, per ESPN, Murray might be the best option for QB-hungry teams once the season ends.

Seven years in Arizona, Murray has been good but never great for a Cardinals team that is looking up in a rugged NFC West. Injuries have hamstrung Arizona and Murray as a whole; seemingly, anytime they find something good, it goes sideways not too long after.

Murray is currently on the injured reserve with an ankle sprain that sidelined him in the second month of the campaign. Since going down, backup Jacoby Brisett has done more than an admirable job in his place.

The two teams Fowler thinks will be in on Murray are the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets, two franchises that have been searching for a quarterback of the future for two decades.

Cleveland has a plethora of quarterbacks on the roster, even drafting two in the 2025 draft, but neither appears to be the long-term answer in Cleveland for a rebuilding franchise.

For the Jets, it might be even worse, as Justin Fields has failed to deliver any meaningful metrics in 2025, repeatedly crumbling under pressure.

Murray, who has always had a high ceiling, could reach that if moved this offseason. It might be best for both the Cardinals as a franchise and Murray as a player to go their separate ways. The real question is whether Cleveland or New York would be a better destination for the up-and-down Murray.
