The news we have all been waiting for officially came out on Wednesday night.
The 2025 schedule has been released. On it, the Bucs will play four primetime games this season, and we have those for you now.
This will be a primetime rematch of one of the most exciting games in the Baker Mayfield era, where both he and CJ Stroud were in a shootout to the last second, in which the Houston Texans prevailed. However, the Buccaneers will look to go to Houston and set the tone with a big win in prime time at the beginning of the season. The Texans’ offensive line is still an area of concern. With Stefon Diggs gone to New England, where Tank Dell is likely out for the season after a gruesome injury at the end of last year, the Bucs may have the upper hand regarding offensive firepower this time around.
Yet another rematch, in which Tampa Bay will go back to Detroit once again to face Jared Goff and one of the best offenses in the league. The last time these two teams matched up, the Bucs pulled out a greedy Win in the last minute thanks to some lockdown red zone defense. These two teams could be headed for a collision more than once this season.
The Bucs’ third straight road primetime game is against none other than the team that’s had the Bucs’ number lately. Bucs fans remember all too well what happened in the 2021 playoff matchup and how close Tampa came to pulling off a miraculous comeback. Sean McVay will host a Bucs team itching to get their monkey off their back and break the curse.
This might be the biggest primetime game of the year for the Bucs. After two heartbreaking losses to Atlanta in 2024 in which the team had no answers for Kirk Cousins, both matchups this year might be circled a few times for the boys in red and pewter. With it being at the tail end of the season, it’s almost guaranteed to have playoff implications. Raymond James will be rocking, as it is the only home primetime game of the season.
