Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin is the hottest name in this winter’s coaching cycle.
It seems like every team with an opening is showing interest in Kiffin — including, to some extent, the Tennessee Titans.

The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman and Ralph Russo noted on Friday that some Titans decision-makers have shown some level of interest in Kiffin.
“One industry source said there was at least a modicum of interest in Kiffin among decision-makers with the Tennessee Titans,” wrote Feldman and Russo.
NFL teams usually cast a wide net, so it’s no surprise that the Titans have at least mentioned Kiffin’s name. It doesn’t mean, however, that Kiffin is expected to be a serious candidate for the Titans (but you never say never — we’ve certainly been surprised by coaching searches before).

Lane Kiffin’s name has been linked to several NFL jobs
Some folks believe that Kiffin will stay put at Ole Miss. I tend to agree — Kiffin seems happy in Oxford and he has the Rebels in position to compete for a national championship. I don’t know why Kiffin would trade a good situation in for an unknown situation.
A jump to the NFL, though, could make a lot of sense for Kiffin. He has previous NFL experience as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders, and there would be no transfer portal/NIL drama to deal with on a daily basis.

If Kiffin goes to the NFL, most believe the New York Giants would be his first choice (because he’d be reunited with former Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart).
Earlier this week, during an appearance on McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning, Sports Talk Mississippi host Brian Hadad mentioned the Miami Dolphins job (if it comes open) as another potential NFL option for Kiffin.
“I’ve really convinced myself that he’s not going to take another college job,” said Hadad. “So I think that if he’s going to leave — and if he doesn’t leave this year it’s going to be really difficult to see him leaving — I think the NFL is where you have to look. The Giants are interesting. Could you reunite him with Jaxson Dart?

“If the Dolphins job comes comes open, my goodness — he’s got the place down in Boca Raton. So, I mean, that would be a great spot for him. I think the NFL is his next move. So that’s where I’m looking more than anything else. I don’t think he’s going to go to LSU. I thought that he might go there. And then the governor of the state opened his mouth, and then everything else happened. And so I’ve stopped thinking that. Florida, maybe. But I just don’t know what Florida is going to give him at this point that Ole Miss can’t give him. So I think the NFL is his next stop — if he decides to make a next stop at all.”
Kiffin should have plenty of options to choose from this winter as he ponders his next move.
