The Tennessee Titans are coming off the bye and are finishing up their preparations for a Week 11 battle with the Houston Texans at Nissan Stadium. Yet many fans have turned their attention to the offseason, the Titans’ coaching search, and the NFL draft.

While no specific list of candidates has emerged, many names have circulated on national networks and social media. Arthur Smith, Mike McCarthy, Matt Nagy, and Joe Brady are some of the names to have come up in recent weeks.

In an article breaking down the crazy, college football coaching carousel, Bruce Feldman and Ralph D. Russo of The Athletic hint at another name that is potentially drawing some interest from the front office: Lane Kiffin

One industry source said there was at least a modicum of interest in Kiffin among decision-makers with the Tennessee Titans.

Kiffin is a hot commodity in coaching searches, with his name mentioned in most of the high-profile college openings, including Penn State, LSU, and Florida, so adding an NFL franchise to the mix would not be a complete shock.

Kiffin has been successful in the college ranks and may be looking to make the jump to the NFL after successful stints at the college level. Kiffin would bring some NFL experience to the table, going 5-15 as head coach of the then-Oakland Raiders under owner Al Davis.

While those numbers don’t scream NFL success, it is notable that Kiffin was handcuffed with JaMarcus Russel as his quarterback, a personal Al Davis pick that turned into one of the biggest busts in NFL history.Â
