It’s Week 11, the Green Bay Packers are 5-3-1 and preparing to take on the New York Giants, and the 2026 NFL Draft is 160 days away. Before we know it, the NFL Scouting Combine will be here, and we will all be in awe of how fast people can run in a straight line.
Let’s dive into the results of my first mock draft of the current draft cycle, along with some other Green Bay draft tidbits:
53rd overall pick: Gennings Dunker, OL, Iowa
Green Bay’s offensive line has been a major disappointment through 10 weeks of the season. If the unit finishes the season strong, they can make everybody forget how bad they’ve looked at times.
Rasheed Walker and Sean Rhyan are both set to hit free agency and it’s a very real possibility that Elgton Jenkins played his last snap as a member of the Green Bay Packers on Monday night. It’s a group that figures to receive a makeover this offseason.
Jordan Morgan will be a starter next season. Whether that’s at left tackle or right guard will eventually be answered.
Zach Tom will also be a starter. It’s a safe assumption that he’ll stay at right tackle, but it’s always a possibility that they move him to center if they have faith that Anthony Belton could take over at right tackle. Speaking of Belton, he could potentially be the team’s starting right guard next season.
Aaron Banks has been a disaster during his first season in Green Bay, but he isn’t going anywhere and will be the team’s starting left guard.
Are you lost yet? Well, hold onto your butts.
With a lot of question marks along the offensive line, it’s a safe assumption that Brian Gutekunst will continue to invest in that group this offseason, particularly through the draft.
A potential target is Dunker. The Iowa offensive lineman is who I have the Packers selecting in my first two-round mock draft of the 2026 cycle.
Dunker has started 33 games at right tackle and one game at right guard. Dunker enjoys imposing his will as a run blocker. He gets after it and will take no prisoners.
With his powerful frame and experience playing both tackle and guard, Dunker would be a nice fit as Green Bay’s Future starting right guard alongside Tom at right tackle. The Packers need a tone-setter on the offensive line and Dunker could be that potential spark.
Other notes
Last week, Green Bay sent scouts to the following games:
The Packers got a first-hand look at a potential quarterback they could target in the seventh-round or as an undrafted free agent during the Interstate Battle between the SDSU Jackrabbits and USD Coyotes. His name is Aidan Bouman and he has ties to Green Bay. Bouman’s father, Todd Bouman spent a minute with the Packers in 2006 as the team’s backup quarterback after Aaron Rodgers got hurt.
The USD starting quarterback threw for 158 yards and one touchdown and helped the Coyotes knock off the Jackrabbits 24-17.
A player to remember is North Carolina State defensive tackle Brandon Cleveland. The 6-2, 320-pound defensive tackle could be high on Green Bay’s board on Day 3 of the draft. Cleveland has a career high five tackles for loss to go along with one sack and 17 run stops.
