The Tennessee Titans (1-8) will return to action at Nissan Stadium in Week 11 when they face the Houston Texans (4-5), in AFC South action this Sunday at 12:00 p.m. CDT.
The Titans are coming off their bye and will look to get some of their veteran leaders back on the field against the Texans. Tennessee was a battered football team entering the bye, and while there are still questions to be answered on the injury front, starters Arden Key, Calvin Ridley, and Jeffery Simmons have returned to the field as they prepare for the week.Â
AFC South battles are usually tough battles, and this matchup with the Texans always has a little extra juice with the deep connections the teams share with the city of Houston. This one should be no different, with the Texans rallying around backup quarterback Davis Mills with starter C.J. Stroud remaining in concussion protocol.
Unfortunately, even with Tennessee set to face a backup quarterback, oddsmakers at BetMGM don’t see much of a difference in the potential outcome, and the Titans remain 6-point underdogs.Â
In fact, the entire line has only slightly changed, with the over/under on the game being 37 total points, and the moneyline on the Titans is +230, while it is -285 for the Texans.
This should be an entertaining game between two rivals, and a great measuring stick for Tennessee. The Texans blanked the Titans 26-0 in their first matchup, and their defense dominated Tennessee’s offense, but Cam Ward and the offense have shown some improvement in recent weeks.Â
Will those offensive strides make a difference and prevent the Texans from tying the all-time series? Tune in on Sunday to find out.Â
