The Carolina Panthers have strengthened the depth of their defense for tomorrow’s NFC South clash against the Atlanta Falcons.

As announced on Saturday afternoon, the team has activated inside linebacker Krys Barnes and safety Israel Mukuamu from the practice squad. Both have been added to the active roster as standard elevations.

Barnes, a sixth-year veteran, has amassed 30 career starts between stops with the Green Bay Packers (2020 to 2022) and the Arizona Cardinals (2023 to 2024). The 27-year-old appeared in Carolina’s Week 5 win over the Miami Dolphins, where he recorded all 23 of his snaps on special teams.

He’ll help provide insurance in the absence of starting inside linebacker Trevin Wallace, who has been ruled out with a shoulder injury.

Mukuamu will join the safety room for Week 11 in light of the status on rookie Lathan Ransom. Ransom has also been ruled out after undergoing a procedure on his hand.
