Jacksonville Jaguars keys to victory vs. Los Angeles Chargers Week 11
The Jacksonville Jaguars look to get back in the win column this week against the Chargers. Here’s the Times-Union’s breakdown on what needs to happen.
The Jacksonville Jaguars (5-4) will be without multiple starters Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers (7-3) after the team ruled four players out ahead of the contest.
The list includes tight end Brenton Strange (hip), who returned to practice this week after the team opened his 21-day practice window to return from injured reserve. Strange practiced limited on Wednesday and Thursday before resting on Friday. Chances are, the team will be able to get Strange back next week against the Arizona Cardinals.
In addition to Strange, Jacksonville will be without right tackle Anton Harrison, cornerback Jourdan Lewis and tight end Hunter Long. While receiver Brian Thomas Jr. had a “questionable” designation on the injury report, it was reported Saturday evening that the team would sit him for a second straight week due to an ankle injury.
Jacksonville will use Cole Van Lanen in place of Harrison at right tackle, while Jarrian Jones will operate as the team’s nickel corner on defense. Jaguars receiver Parker Washington was dealing with a hamstring injury this week, but was deemed fine at the end of the week. Look for newly-acquired WR Jakobi Meyers to have a bigger role this week after an acclimation week in Week 10.
Here are the players who’ve been officially ruled out and deemed inactive against the Chargers today.
