Daniel Jones on Colts’ success and MVP buzz in Indianapolis

Daniel Jones reflects on Colts’ win, Jonathan Taylor’s MVP run and his role in FedEx’s power move campaign.

The two front-runners in the 2025 NFL MVP race are on opposite sides of the spectrum in terms of pro experience.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, a 17-year veteran, is the current betting favorite to win the league’s most prestigious award. Should he win, it would be his first time securing any end-of-season award besides a Comeback Player of the Year nod in 2011.

Right behind him in odds is second-year New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. Coming off the heels of a 4-13 rookie season, Maye and the Patriots are 9-2 – alone atop the NFL with the league’s best record.

Behind the two of them in the third- and fifth-place spots in odds, respectively, are two more familiar names in annual MVP races: Buffalo Bills quarterback and reigning MVP Josh Allen, and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and two-time MVP Patrick Mahomes.

Rounding out the top five is the only non-quarterback in the top 10 of betting odds: Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor.

Here’s a look at the top 15 in betting odds through the late slate of Nov. 16 games according to BetMGM:

NFL MVP odds: Week 111. QB Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams (+150)

Stafford’s streak of games with four or more passing touchdowns was snapped at three games in Week 11. He still threw for 130 yards and a couple of passing touchdowns against a stout Seahawks defense to take sole possession of first place in the NFC West.

2. QB Drake Maye, New England Patriots (+225)

Maye completed 25 of his 34 pass attempts for 281 yards and a touchdown against the Jets on “Thursday Night Football.” It helped lead the Patriots to an eighth straight win as they became the first team to nine wins.

3. QB Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills (+500)

Allen and the Bills‘ Week 10 loss to the Dolphins diminished his odds to win a second straight MVP award, but his performance in Week 11 boosted him back up. The reigning MVP threw for three touchdowns and rushed for three more in a win over the Buccaneers. He also threw two interceptions, but the 36 points he was responsible for outscored almost every team’s total points in Week 11.

4. RB Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts (+650)

Taylor and the Colts had a bye in Week 11, so Taylor didn’t get a chance to put together a sixth game with three touchdowns. He’s still well on pace to win the rushing triple crown this year with 1,139 rushing yards, 15 rushing touchdowns and six yards per rush all leading the league.

5. QB Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs (+700)

Mahomes’ odds to win a third MVP award dipped in Week 11. The Chiefs’ offense struggled against the Broncos‘ mighty defense in the loss on the road. Kansas City’s quarterback finished the game 29-of-45 for 276 yards, one touchdown and an interception.

6. QB Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles (+2500)

Hurts and the Eagles take on the Lions in the Week 11 edition of “Sunday Night Football,” and he has a chance to boost his odds to win an MVP award if he leads Philadelphia to a fourth straight win.

7. QB Jared Goff, Detroit Lions (+2800)

Goff and the Lions are on the other side of Week 11’s “Sunday Night Football” game. The Lions’ quarterback entered Nov. 16 leading the NFL in completion rate (74%).

8. QB Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens (+4000)

Jackson’s MVP odds dropped significantly after a two-interception, 193-yard performance in a tight divisional game against the Browns. The Ravens‘ two-time MVP quarterback is a long shot to win this year’s award after missing three games with a hamstring injury.

T-9. QB Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks (+5000)

Darnold’s odds to win MVP plummeted after the Seattle quarterback threw four interceptions against the Rams on the road. What’s worse, his game-winning drive efforts fell short, literally, as Jason Myers’ 61-yard field goal attempt sailed wide right and short as time expired.

T-9. QB Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+5000)

The Buccaneers have lost two straight but still lead the NFC South by half a game. Mayfield’s Week 11 performance in the air – 16-of-28 for 173 yards, one touchdown and one interception – was one of his weakest of the season, but he also had 39 rushing yards and a touchdown on five attempts. His MVP odds lengthened a bit, but he remains in the top 10 for a second straight week.

T-11. QB Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers (+6600)T-11. QB Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers (+6600)T-11. QB Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts (+6600)14. QB Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears (+8000)15. WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks (+10000)
