The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to pick up a victory in Week 11 facing the Cincinnati Bengals, moving them further up the AFC North standings, and AFC standings overall.
While the Steelers got the win, it came with some injury trouble as Aaron Rodgers ended up leaving the game after suffering a left wrist injury. In the game against Cincinnati, it was Mason Rudolph who ended up replacing Rodgers, but for the long-term this is not sustainable.
If the Steelers want to maintain this upward trajectory they have been on, there is another quarterback they must turn to if they want to have the best chance to succeed, and the quarterback they need to start going forward is Will Howard.

Pittsburgh Steelers Replacing Aaron Rodgers With Will Howard
When the Steelers went on to draft Will Howard as the 185th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, it could be implied that they had plans for him in the future down the line. The thing is, though, those plans may start this season.
Will Howard had started the season on the Injured Reserve List after he suffered a hand injury during training camp. This game against the Bengals was his first game of the season being active.
Now that Will Howard has had time in practice and experienced the game atmosphere at the NFL level while being active, the Steelers should move to him being the starter going forward.
In his last season of college, Will Howard took the Ohio State Buckeyes to the National Championship, and helped them win it. Over the season in college last year, Howard ended up completing 72.8% of his passes for 4,003 yards and 35 touchdowns with just 10 interceptions. In addition, he added on 328 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.
Mason Rudolph’s ceiling has been reached in the NFL, and if the Steelers want any chance of propelling the team forward while Rodgers is injured, Will Howard gives them the best chance to do that with his accuracy and added element of his rushing ability.
