Manhattan, NY (KTAL/KMSS) — Former Gilmer High School superstar and current New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is in critical but stable condition after being shot in New York City, according to multiple new reports.

According to police reports, around 2:00 a.m. EST, a phone call came into the police about a shooting in Midtown Manhattan. Police say, Boyd was shot in the abdomen following a dispute outside a high-end restaurant.

The 29-year-old was transported to Bellevue Hospital.

After attending Gilmer High, Boyd played football for the Texas Longhorns before being drafted in the 7th round of the NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

The cornerback/special teams standout then played for the Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals before signing with the Jets this March.
