DALLAS — Post Malone will take the stage this Thanksgiving at AT&T Stadium to headline the halftime performance for his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.
On Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys announced Post Malone will bring his unique blend of country, rock and hip-hop to Arlington during their Thanksgiving game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The artist, who grew up in a northwest suburb of Dallas, said he is honored to take part in this Texas holiday tradition.
“I’m from Texas. I grew up a Cowboys fan and have been watching this halftime show for years,” said Post Malone in a statement. “It’s a real honor to be part of the Red Kettle Kickoff with The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys and help bring hope to so many people.”
For 28 years, the Red Kettle Kickoff performance has launched a “Texas-sized” fundraiser for The Salvation Army, a nonprofit that provides year-round food, housing and services to nearly 28 million people. Last year, the campaign raised nearly $100 million nationwide.
Charlotte Jones, co-owner of the Dallas Cowboys and former national advisory board chairman for The Salvation Army, said the Red Kettle Campaign is “more than a tradition — it’s a lifeline.”
“Every ring of a bell is a reminder that small acts of generosity can spark real joy,” Jones said in a statement. “We’re proud to stand with The Salvation Army once again and are so excited for our biggest fan, Post Malone, to share his immense talent and energy with fans nationwide.”
Other NFL Thanksgiving performers announced include Jack White and Lil Jon.
Jack White will return to his hometown of Detroit to headline the Lions’ halftime show during their game against the Green Bay Packers. Two weeks out from his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the White Stripes, White’s performance will be the first under Eminem and Pual Rosenberg’s partnership to executive produce the Detroit Lions’ Thanksgiving show.
Lil Jon will hit the stage during the Baltimore Ravens’ home game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Lions are scheduled to play the Packers at 11 a.m. ET on Nov. 27. That afternoon, the game between the Cowboys and Chiefs will kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET. The Ravens and Bengals game is set to begin at 8:20 ET.
