Packers WR Christian Watson talks about his two-touchdown day

For the first time since 2023, Christian Watson scored two touchdowns in a game to lead the Packers to a win over the Giants.

Former Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams, who’s now playing for the Los Angeles Rams, put himself in rare company against the Seattle Seahawks on Nov. 17 — and he somehow did it with one catch for one yard.

That catch was the 1,000th of his career, and that yard was all it took for a Rams touchdown, which loomed large in a 21-19 win over fellow NFC West leader Seattle.

Adams became the 17th player in NFL history with 1,000 career receptions and just the third active player to reach the threshold, behind Travis Kelce (1,054) and Keenan Allen (1,030).

Adams is actually tied for 16th with Hines Ward in all-time receptions with exactly 1,000, with Isaac Bruce (1,024) next on the list.

Jerry Rice is the all-time leader at 1,549.

To place him in even more exclusive company, Adams joins Randy Moss, Rice, Terrell Owens and Marvin Harrison as the five players in NFL history to catch 10 touchdowns in seven seasons. Each of the other four receivers are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Five of those seasons for Adams came in Green Bay, when he had five Pro Bowl selections in eight years with the Packers. He caught 14 touchdowns with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 and now 10 with the Rams this season after a brief detour with the New York Jets last season.

Adams, who doesn’t turn 33 years old until Christmas Eve, caught 669 passes during his Packers career, good for 8,128 yards and 73 touchdowns.

It was ironic that the milestone came in a game that proved to be a struggle for Adams, with just one catch on eight targets, the fewest catches he’s ever had in his career on that many targets.

It’s the first game this season in which Adams has caught fewer than three passes and only the second time he’s caught fewer than four or finished with fewer than 35 yards receiving. He has a touchdown catch in four straight Rams games.

Los Angeles (8-2) leads the NFC West and holds the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff picture.
