Ravens’ keys to victory vs Jets
The Ravens have made a huge turnaround back to .500 after entering the bye week at 1-5. The difference during the four-game winning streak? Running back Derrick Henry, who has rushed for at least 71 yards and has carried a much heavier workload after not averaging his normal production through the first five weeks. It should be all systems go for Henry in this spot at home against a below-average Jets run defense.
Jets’ keys to victory vs Ravens
Derrick Henry has been the storyline, but the Jets have to watch Ravens QB Lamar Jackson. The two-time NFL MVP has not been his All-Pro level self the past two weeks, but we know he’s capable of a performance like he had in Week 9 against the Dolphins in which he completed nearly 80% of his passes and tied a season-high with four TD passes in his first game back in a month from a hamstring injury. It’ll be a tall task for an inexperienced Jets secondary.
Jets vs Ravens matchup to watch
Jets RB Breece Hall vs. Ravens defense: With WR Garrett Wilson on injured reserve, Hall will be the matchup to watch as the lone major offensive threat the Jets have. In Week 11, Hall was limited to 58 yards on 14 carries. Despite trailing a majority of the final three quarters, Hall only had two catches on two targets. That’s simply not good enough.
If the Jets are to have any chance of pulling off an upset, they’re going to need to get Hall going in the receiving game, whether it’s Justin Fields or Tyrod Taylor under center.
Jets vs Ravens prediction
The QB change finally happened since we now know that head coach Aaron Glenn has made the move from Justin Fields to Tyrod Taylor under center. Even with the transition to a more stable pocket passer in Taylor, the Jets offense simply won’t be able to keep up with one of the hottest teams in the NFL and the defense will struggle mightily against the likes of QB Lamar Jackson and RB Derrick Henry.
There’s a chance if the Jets don’t come out of the gates scoring early this one could be decided by the third quarter, if not sooner. The Ravens will cruise to victory here as they defeat the Jets by three scores to continue their ascension back into the AFC playoff picture after a rocky start.
