INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A familiar name can now be found on the Indianapolis Colts roster.
Former Pendleton Heights star Eli Pancol was signed to his hometown team’s practice squad Tuesday in an effort to bolster the wide receiver corps.
Pancol participated in the Colts’ Local Pro Day this offseason before signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in April.
Before joining the NFL, Pancol played for six seasons at Duke. He started in 27 games for the Blue Devils and left Durham with 1,710 receiver yards and 16 total touchdowns.
Pancol was a consensus three-star recruiting prospect while at Pendleton Heights, finding the end zone 29 times. His senior year, he caught a conference-best 12 touchdowns.
In addition to Pancol, the Colts brought back All-Pro safety George Odum to the practice squad. Odum played for Indy from 2018 to 2021 before joining the San Francisco 49ers for the following three seasons. Odum’s 20 special teams tackles in during the 2020 season are tied for fifth-most in Colts franchise history since 1994. Odum also owns the third-most special teams tackles since 2018.
Joining Odum on the defense is veteran defensive tackle Chris Wormley. The Colts are the fourth team he’s played for in his now nine-year career — starting with the Baltimore Ravens in 2017 and later joining the Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Panthers. He’s recorded 150 total tackles, 11 sacks and a fumble recovery in his career. Wormley’s also played in four playoff games.
Defensive end Viliami Fehoko Jr. was also added to the practice squad. Fehoko Jr. was originally drafted in the fourth round by the Dallas Cowboys in 2023.
The Colts face the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern as they hope to continue the momentum gained before the bye week and carry it into the final stretch of the season.
