The Tennessee Titans are coming off a heartbreaking last-second loss to the Houston Texans in Week 11 and now must regroup before facing the Seattle Seahawks in Week 12 action at Nissan Stadium.

The Titans played well against the Texans and were competitive throughout. Unfortunately, their lack of depth at critical positions was exposed, and the team lacked the dynamic playmakers needed to make plays in the crunch. The defense, boosted by the return of Jeffery Simmons and Arden Key, was stout all afternoon and kept the game close enough for the offense to find its footing.

The Titans have improved in many areas since Brian Callahan was fired and Mike McCoy took over in the interim. Yet some of the same issues continue to plague the team, and many are roster-related rather than coaching-related. Tennessee finished the game with only two healthy wide receivers, and the lack of quality depth at the position cost the unit a chance at some game-changing splash plays.

The Seahawks come to town second in the NFC West and will be trying to get back on track after falling to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 11. They boast a solid roster with talent across the board that could make a difference in Nashville, and this week, we here at Titans Wire will have a chance to hypothetically steal one of those players and fit them onto the Titans’ roster.

Running back Kenneth Walker III, wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Rashid Shaheed, tackles  Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas, and pass rushers Uchenna Nwosu and DeMarcus Lawrence are talented playmakers who would be upgrades at their positions. But one player remains who could make a more significant impact: Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

The Titans’ wide receiver room is ailing. With Calvin Ridley and Bryce Oliver lost to injured reserve, and rookies Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor dinged during the Texans matchup, Tennessee finished the contest with only Van Jefferson and Mason Kinsey available at the position.

While they did add James Proche to the active roster, the unit could use an influx of talent and a true alpha receiver, and Smith-Njigba is just that. The former first-round pick out of Ohio State has come into his own and seized the opportunity to become the Seahawks’ top wideout. The dynamic playmaker is having an outstanding season and has quietly developed into one of the best in the league.

Through 10 games, he is on an incredible pace with 72 receptions for 1,146 yards and five touchdowns, singlehandedly dwarfing the Titans’ receiving corps’ production. He would immediately step in and be a leader in the room, and give Cam Ward a dynamic threat on the outside.

What are your thoughts, Titans fans? Would pick Jaxon Smith-Njigba or steal an entirely different player from the Seattle Seahawks. Sound off and let us know.Â
