The Jacksonville Jaguars aren’t quite done with re-shaping the team’s roster. According to his agent Drew Rosenhaus, the team is bringing in defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah on a one-year deal.

The deal is worth up to $5 million, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on social media via Rosenhaus.

Ogbah, 31, was originally drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He played in Cleveland for three seasons before signing a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, ultimately spending the next five seasons with the Miami Dolphins.

Ogbah has started 87 games in his career, totalling 317 tackles (185 solos), 50 tackles for loss, 112 quarterback hits and 47.5 sacks.

Ogbah posted 29.5 sacks over his five-year career with the Dolphins through 73 games played. He’s posted 10.5 sacks over the last two years combined. He has familiarity with Jaguars defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile, too. Campanile was the Dolphins’ linebackers coach from 2020-23 before he moved on to coach the Packers.

BOLD: Jacksonville Jaguars ‘making a statement’ with Travis Hunter. It will speak loudly on future

The move to sign Ogbah comes after the Jaguars did not select a defensive lineman in the 2025 NFL Draft. General manager James Gladstone provided some context as to why it seemed the team ignored the position that many knew would need to be addressed at some point.

That is especially true behind Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker at defensive end. Jacksonville does not have much experience behind the duo, with DL Arik Armstead slated to move inside to his natural position.

“You’re not going to reach because of what might be a perceived need. So you are always going to take the players that you feel like are going to put the team in the best interest moving forward. You don’t want to ever sort of lean heavily into just one idea of best player available and need,” said Gladstone.

“It’s some version of balanced dynamic that comes with that. So I do think you’ll see us make some moves here in the near future that will, in fact, address that. Obviously, our undrafted college free agents haven’t been announced, but those positions were certainly close to filled there, and we’ll look towards the pro free agent landscape as well.”

The Jaguars agreed to terms with 20 undrafted free agents after selecting nine players during the three-day event, including dynamic, two-way player Travis Hunter.
