The Seattle Seahawks started Olu Oluwatimi at center in Sunday’s Week 11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. It marked Oluwatimi’s first start of the 2025 season. He replaced Jalen Sundell in the lineup, who is dealing with a multi-week injury.

Oluwatimi faced a difficult test versus a stout Rams defensive front featuring Braden Fiske and Kobie Turner across the interior. Analyzing Oluwatimi’s first start, the former Michigan standout struggled. The Seahawks need better efforts from him moving forward.

Pro Football Focus credited Oluwatimi with allowing two pressures and zero sacks in pass protection. Despite those numbers sounding acceptable, they slapped him with a lackluster 37.4 grade in pass protection. Oluwatimi wasn’t whistled for any penalties either.

Oluwatimi fared a little better as a run blocker. The 2023 fifth-round selection was assigned a grade of 52.2 in that department. The Seahawks had some success running the football, with Kenneth Walker III rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown while averaging above 4.0 yards per carry.

Oluwatimi lost a training camp battle to Sundell for the starting center gig. He’s now receiving an opportunity following Sundell’s injury. Sunday’s Rams game was a mixed bag for Oluwatimi, who needs to capture more consistency moving forward.
