Last week, the Pittsburgh Steelers got a statement win by blowing out the Cincinnati Bengals in their AFC North rematch. But there’s no time to relax as this week the Steelers have to travel to Soldier Field to take on the red-hot Chicago Bears. Here are the big storylines to watch this week.
Aaron Rodgers vs Mason Rudolph
Rodgers doesn’t need surgery on his injured wrist but it isn’t clear now if the team will be able to get him stable enough with the injury that he can play. This means it’s a waiting game for him and Rudolph as to who will go against the Bears.
Will the Steelers bench James Pierre?
Head coach Mike Tomlin didn’t rule out playing Darius Slay if he is out of the concussion protocol over James Pierre, despite Slay’s struggles and how well Pierre has played. Loyalty to the big-money free agent over putting the best players on the field could cost the Steelers.
Does Jaylen Warren play?
If the Steelers don’t have Jaylen Warren, along with uncertainty at quarterback, we aren’t sure where the Steelers offense is going to come from. Warren injured his ankle in last week’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals and Tomlin said he will be limited this week.
