Add T.J. Ward’s name to the list of those speaking out on Cam Skattebo’s polarizing WWE appearance.
Hours after the injured Giants rookie got physical on “Monday Night Raw,” the retired Super Bowl-winning safety with the Broncos offered a pointed response on Skattebo’s antics after a crushing ankle injury derailed the running back’s promising first year.
“This how you make sure you have a short NFL career,” Ward, 38, wrote alongside a post chronicling Skattbeo’s WWE cameo.

Skattebo, who took the league by storm with his bludgeoning style of play, stirred buzz at Madison Square Garden this week after getting into it with Dominik Mysterio, who originally taunted comedian Andrew Schultz.
“The only good thing that’s coming out of New York City is standing right in front of you,” Mysterio said. “The only champion New York has seen in … can you count, Cam? How many years? He don’t know. He can’t count.”
Skattebo, flanked by Giants teammates including No. 3 overall pick Abdul Carter, then came face-to-face with JD McDonagh before shoving The Judgment Day star.

The backlash soon followed as Skattebo was just weeks removed from being carted off Lincoln Financial Field after dislocating his ankle and suffering a fractured fibula against the Eagles on Oct. 26.
“You got one good leg, bro,” Chris McMonigle said Tuesday on WFAN, according to Awful Announcing. “I don’t want to get on Cam Skattebo. I don’t want to get on Abdul Carter for wanting to have fun and going to a WWE event and having a good time and being a part of the storyline. It’s one of these things, you’re a young kid and you just became an NFL player. You get asked to do these things, you’re probably a wrestling fan, it’s fun. But, like, you just had a devastating injury and you’re on your feet pushing professional wrestlers. Like, that is so Jets-ian. The optics are so bad.”
Ward — who also played for the Buccaneers and Browns during his eight seasons in the league— later sounded off on the apparent fallout his initial Skattebo post sparked.

“Most of you wouldn’t understand cus you just here for entertainment. I actually care. #staysafe,” he wrote Tuesday.
As for Skattebo, the former Arizona State star appears unbothered by the criticism as he works his way back from injury.
“Aye, honestly if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on,” he wrote Tuesday in a post to X.

“I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life so I am doing things outside the box trying to find stuff to keep me happy,” he added. “Enjoy the rest of y’all’s week and just don’t talk about me if you ain’t got nothing nice to say.”
Through eight games, Skattebo rushed for 410 yards and five touchdowns. He also added two scores in the air with 207 receiving yards.
