Quentin Lake isn’t the only Los Angeles Rams player who will be sidelined for at least a month. Sean McVay announced on Wednesday that the team is placing Lake, Rob Havenstein and Tyler Higbee all on injured reserve.
At a minimum, they will all miss four weeks, and potentially more. McVay confirmed that Lake had surgery for a dislocated elbow, saying that if he returns this season, it will likely be in the postseason, not the regular season.
Higbee has an ankle injury and Havenstein is dealing with ankle and knee bursitis, putting them both on the shelf for at least four games. McVay said Higbee and Havenstein could return as soon as Week 16, when they’re first eligible.
As for replacements, the Rams will likely turn to Warren McClendon Jr. at right tackle and a combination of Colby Parkinson, Davis Allen and Terrance Ferguson at tight end. Josh Wallace and Roger McCreary could get a crack at filling in for Lake in the slot, a position Cobie Durant is also capable of playing.
Lake, Havenstein and Higbee will all miss games against the Buccaneers, Panthers, Cardinals and Lions. They’ll be eligible to be activated for Week 16 against the Seahawks.
