The Cleveland Browns have two rookies they can attempt to build around for the future.

Dillon Gabriel already earned snaps before his injury. Now Shedeur Sanders will handle starting duties for the first time ever in his young NFL career.

But even with two first season guys, one draft expert believes Cleveland still must be on the lookout for a quarterback in next year’s draft — by swapping with the New York Giants.

Matt Miller of ESPN calls for the Browns and Giants to trade places.

Cleveland gains the No. 2 overall pick in this scenario — and use the selection on Dante Moore of Oregon.

“The Browns’ many attempts to find a franchise quarterback have failed, so it’s back to the drawing board,” Miller began. “Moore started five games at UCLA in 2023 before transferring to Oregon and sitting behind Dillon Gabriel — whom he’d actually be replacing here — in 2024.”

Miller has seen the accuracy coming out of the dual-threat QB.

“Moore has played with poise and touch this season, completing 72.8% of his passes for 2,190 yards and 21 touchdowns to five interceptions while showing great arm talent,” Miller said.

Is Dante Moore Guaranteed to Enter NFL Draft?

Miller, though, admits that the Oregon star could still opt back in for the ’26 season in Eugene.

“He isn’t a shoo-in to declare for 2026, given his limited experience (15 starts), but Moore’s penchant for making tough throws from muddy pockets would fit in Cleveland.”

Still, Moore’s breakout 2025 points to him potentially testing the draft waters early — especially if he receives great feedback from NFL personnel.

Here’s one more reason why Miller believes Moore should fit Cleveland.

“Moore alone wouldn’t be a quick fix, but matching him with RB Quinshon Judkins and TE Harold Fannin Jr. would give the Browns a young, high-energy offense,” Miller wrote.
