Chicago Bears superfan and WWE superstar Seth Rollins tore into Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers ahead of the Week 12 matchup between the two historic franchises.
On Thursday’s edition of Good Morning Football, Rollins cut a fiery promo on the 41-year-old veteran quarterback — hoping that Rodgers can play through the wrist injury so that his beloved Bears can enact revenge on the former Packers signal-caller.
“I’ll tell you where I’d like to begin — I hope that his little wrist is okay,” Rollins said. “I hope that he suits up this Sunday in Chicago — because this is not the same Bears team that he has faced years and years and years and years in Chicago. And he’s not on the same team that he was in Green Bay. This Steelers team is not those Packers teams. And he is not the same Aaron Rodgers that he’s always been. He’s on the backside of his career. …
“This is going to be a different story — you’re going against the first-place Chicago Bears. This is two first-place teams going head-to-head in Chicago. Ben Johnson is going to stick it to you, man. Dennis Allen is going to find a way to blitz, drop you on your back. I swear, we’re not going to come out here next week having the same conversation about Aaron Rodgers owning the Chicago Bears. He’s going to be giving up his ownership.”
Including playoffs, Rodgers holds a 26-5 record over Chicago — dominating the Bears during his almost two-decade-long tenure with the Packers.
Rollins may have his wish granted, as Rodgers returned to practice on Thursday. But the six-time world champion may have bitten off more than he could chew, as if there was any quarterback you wouldn’t want to challenge before facing the Bears — it’s definitely Rodgers.
