Last week was not a very kind week for you if you decided to start multiple Minnesota Vikings players in your fantasy lineups. Justin Jefferson and Aaron Jones Sr. paced this offense in points, both with 11.1, which was good enough for WR26 and RB22, respectively.
But the inconsistencies on that side of the ball make it hard to trust anyone enough to keep starting them in lineups.
Does this mean you should be sitting everyone on the Vikings until further notice? Not necessarily. The Vikings have a very favorable fantasy playoff stretch that will certainly help. I do believe that Justin Jefferson is a must-start, no matter the matchup. If you landed the best receiver in football, it’s hard to justify sitting him when he’s likely projected to score at least 15 points per week.
Minnesota does face a Green Bay defense that allows the 11th most fantasy points per game over its last five games.
With that being said, I would officially only start Aaron Jones Sr. alongside Jefferson. Jones ran the ball very well against the Bears last week, rushing for 70 yards and tacking on three receptions on six targets (for those who play in PPR leagues). Green Bay is middle of the pack in terms of points allowed to running backs, but we are looking more for the chunk runs and check downs with Jones.
Jordan Mason is touchdown-dependent, so if you have a glaring need in your roster this week, he can take up a FLEX spot, but I would not elevate him into an RB2 spot. T.J. Hockenson does not see the volume of targets necessary for me to start him in my TE spot or a FLEX spot. Unfortunately, last week left a sour taste in fantasy owners’ mouths when it comes to Jordan Addison with the drops, which makes him a little too unreliable for me to trust in my lineup, even with the only touchdown by a receiver last week for Minnesota.
All other Vikings can be left off fantasy radars, for now.
