Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving won’t be back “anytime soon,” according to NFL insider Mike Florio.
During Thursday’s installment of “Pro Football Talk Live,” Florio said Irving is dealing with “something more” than the information in the Buccaneers injury report.
Irving has been out since Week 5 with shoulder and foot injuries.
“I’m not so sure Bucky Irving is going to be back this weekend based upon something I heard when we were in Philadelphia,” Florio said, telling co-host Chris Simms, “I’ll tell you off-air what I heard.
“I want to be careful. It just underscores the very real existence of inside information. Because it’s something that probably shouldn’t be out. But I don’t think he’s going to be back anytime soon. It definitely is more information than what’s in the injury report.”
Irving, who returned to practice last week, was a limited participant on Wednesday and Thursday.
Bucs head coach Todd Bowles said Wednesday that the team would be ramping the running back up again.

“We’re going to up their reps this week and ramp them up and see where they are,” Bowles said of Irving and veteran wideout Chris Godwin. “So we’ll get a good idea tomorrow and Friday on exactly where they are.”
During Wednesday’s installment of “The Rondé Barber Show,” the Bucs legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer said Irving will not play Sunday against Rams.

On Friday, The Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud reported on X, “Bucky Irving needed some extra support after becoming injured and being away from his team for the first time in his career, according to people close to the situation.”
Irving last played in a game on Sept. 28 — a 31-25 Buccaneers win over the defending Super Bowl champions the Philadelphia Eagles.
He tallied 165 yards of total offense and one touchdown, including over 100 receiving yards.
