Atlanta will face New Orleans for the first time this season in Week 12.

The Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints are both having forgettable seasons, but records generally get thrown out the window whenever these two NFC South rivals take the field. Sunday’s game will be the first time the Falcons face off against Saints head coach Kellen Moore.

Atlanta will be starting Kirk Cousins at quarterback in place of an injured Michael Penix Jr. for the remainder of the season. Penix has a partially torn ACL that will require a full reconstruction surgery. With a nine-month recovery timeline, he should be back in time for the start of the 2026 season.

The Saints are starting rookie Tyler Shough at quarterback in what will be his first time playing in the rivalry. Shough has 586 passing yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions this season.

Sunday’s matchup starts at 4:25 p.m. ET at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The game will air on FOX in the blue-shaded areas on the Week 12 TV map below (via 506 Sports).

The Falcons have lost five consecutive games entering Week 12. They held a double-digit lead over the Carolina Panthers at halftime of Week 11 but couldn’t hang on after Penix left the game due to a knee injury. The winner of Sunday’s game take third place in the NFC South standings.
