In one of the more high-profile games in the Texas high school football playoffs Friday, Dripping Springs and San Antonio Harlan meet in the area round of the Class 6A Division II playoffs at Alamo Stadium in San Antonio. 

It’s a rematch of last year’s game in the same round that Harlan won 55-24.

Both teams are 10-1. Dripping Springs finished second in District 26-6A and defeated Vista Ridge 38-14 in the first round. Harlan won District 28-6A and beat San Antonio Madison 56-24 to open the postseason.

On the Tigers’ second play, Cooper Reid catches a ball tipped by two Hawks defenders and races 66 yards for a touchdown. 

Harlan answers quickly with a 75-yard scoring drive capped off by G’Ivori Graham 1-yard TD run. The key play on the drive was a 49-yard pass from Aldric Trotter to Jordan Grady. 

Jaceton Gotta sprints 47 yards into the end zone to put the Tigers ahead 14-0.

The Tigers force a quick three-and-out and get the ball back at their own 48 after a Harlan punt.

Chase Ames tosses a 13-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Reid on third-and-goal to give the Tigers an early lead. 

After a 15-minute delay due to the lights on the away side going off, the game is back on. Dripping Springs has first-and-goal from the 14 after reaching the 4 and then committing two penalties.

The stadium lights on the visitor’s side of the field went out after Tripp’s interception. The game is delayed until that situation is remedied.

On third-and-9, Colten Tripp makes an interception for the Tigers at the Harlan 40. Dripping Springs takes over with good field position.

Harlan starts at its own 25 after a touchback.

Dripping Springs will kick to start the game. Harlan will have the game’s first possession.Â
