The Seattle Seahawks placed rookie wide receiver Tory Horton on injured reserve Saturday. The fifth-round pick will be out for at least the next four games.
Horton, who on Friday was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans with a shin injury, has missed Seattle’s past two games. Those two absences came as Horton was also dealing with a groin injury.
Injury Report: Seattle Seahawks could be without 2 LBs vs Titans
Horton, a Colorado State product, has six total touchdowns in his first eight NFL games. He had 13 receptions for 161 yards and five touchdowns and added 238 yards and one touchdown on 16 punt returns.
The Seahawks also added some depth to their banged-up group of linebackers by elevating Patrick O’Connell and Jamie Sheriff from the practice squad for the matchup in Tennessee.
Seattle could be without two of its top three off-ball linebackers on Sunday. Backup Tyrice Knight was ruled out with a concussion on Friday, and starter Ernest Jones IV is questionable with a knee injury. Jones did not participate in practice on Friday.
O’Connell, a Montana product, has four tackles in two games this season. He’s played just eight defensive snaps and 33 on special teams, per Pro Football Reference. The 26-year-old linebacker has appeared in eight total games over three seasons since signing with Seattle as an undrafted free agent in 2023. He has seven total tackles over those contests.
Sheriff, a preseason standout in 2024, has yet to appear in a game this season. The South Alabama product played in two games last season, one with the Seahawks and one with the Carolina Panthers. He was an undrafted free agent signing by Seattle last season.
The Titans activated running back Kalel Mullings off injured reserve and elevated wide receiver Xavier Restrepo from the practice squad for Sunday’s game.
