Rookie CB Billy Bowman Jr. is going on IR.
The Atlanta Falcons announced a handful of roster moves ahead on the eve of their Week 12 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Rookie defensive back Billy Bowman Jr. and defensive lineman Zach Harrison have been placed on the injured reserve list.
The team also activated linebacker Divine Deablo and signed rookie cornerback Cobee Bryant off the practice squad to replace Bowman and Harrison on the 53-man roster. Lastly, the Falcons elevated wide receiver Dylan Drummond and safety Jammie Robinson from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Saints.
Bowman suffered an Achilles injury during Friday’s practice and now his promising year likely comes to an end. Harrison has been battling a knee injury for several weeks but recorded 4.5 sacks in seven games this season.
Deablo is a major addition to an Atlanta defense that has struggled over the last few weeks. The former Raiders linebacker’s versatility is key in Jeff Ulbrich’s defensive scheme.
