Carrie Underwood didn’t wait until Week 12’s edition of “Sunday Night Football” to grab everyone’s attention.
NBC announced in July that Underwood was returning to sing the “Sunday Night Football” theme song for the 2025 season. The eight-time Grammy Award winner has been with the network since 2013.
“For the 20th season of SNF, we wanted to set the tone for the night by reimagining the anthem sound in a way that plays to Carrie’s powerhouse vocals, while visually creating a seamless blend of stylized shots and behind-the-scenes moments evoking the national roadshow that is Sunday Night Football, week after week in the fall,” Tripp Dixon said.
Prior to this Sunday night’s game between the Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, fans got a sneak peak at Underwood’s Week 12 outfit.

Underwood shared a few photos of her wearing a stunning blue dress along with the caption: “Gearing up for this weekend’s @snfonnbc, here are a few behind the scenes photos from this season’s shoot!”
Fans couldn’t help but praise this look for Underwood.
“My queen,” a fan commented.
“Gorgeous,” a second fan wrote. “Wow those legs.”
Does NBC pay Carrie Underwood?
Prior to the Week 1, there was a rumor going around claiming Underwood makes $1 million each week during the NFL season.
Underwood, however, let fans know back in 2024 that she doesn’t get paid for her role on “Sunday Night Football.” She said it’s essentially pro-bono work for her.
“No, it’s pretty pro-bono,” Underwood said. “I wish, that’d be great. That would be awesome.”
There you have it, NFL fans. Underwood sings “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” just for your viewing pleasure.
