Chargers missing the playoffs vs. Chiefs losing the division

Joe Rivera and Chris Bumbaca analyze the bigger disaster — the Chiefs losing the AFC West or the Chargers falling short of the playoffs.

The Los Angeles Chargers have been playing on low power mode recently.

Jim Harbaugh’s team has been battered and bruised, taking a potential Super Bowl contender and ripping the star-studded roster apart piece by piece each week. In many ways, Justin Herbert is almost the last man standing – even though the poor offensive line play makes that a challenge too.

Los Angeles lost both of its starting tackles, a pair of running backs and much more along the way. In other words, the Chargers are surviving, not thriving.

Despite that, Harbaugh’s crew is 7-4 and in playoff position as we head into the final stretch of the season. They’ll look to heal up over the bye week and hope to find a way to navigate those injuries before a possible postseason run.

Here’s what to know about Week 12.
