One thing was clear in Mike Kafka’s first game as the Giants’ interim head coach: He’s utilizing a split backfield.Â
Despite his fantasy owners’ wishes, Tyrone Tracy Jr. essentially had a 50-50 share with Devin Singletary in Sunday’s game against the Packers.Â
Tracy played 37 snaps during the 27-20 loss, which was barely more than the 35 Singletary saw.Â
In terms of touches, Tracy outpaced Singletary 23-17.Â
Even so, oddsmakers are still treating Sunday’s game against the Lions like it’s Tracy’s backfield.Â
The line on Singletary’s rushing yardage prop is sitting at just 24.5 at bet365 Sportsbook .Â
He went well over this number last week and has hit the Over in three of four games he had at least seven carries this season.Â
After going for 44 yards on the ground against the Packers, who allowed just 3.8 yards per carry this season, which is tied for the 2nd-fewest in football this season, the Giants will take on a Detroit team that’s been vulnerable against the run of late.Â

Over their last three games, the Lions have allowed 127.7 rushing yards per game, which is the 12th-most in the league.Â
Singletary also appears to be the Giants’ goal-line back, running in touchdowns of five and two yards against Green Bay.Â
Betting on the NFL?
After a decent day on the ground overall, I’m not expecting any big changes in the running back room in Kafka’s offense.Â
Look for Singletary to have another solid showing in the Motor City.Â
The play: Devin Singletary Over 24.5 rushing yards (-110, bet365 Sportsbook) and to score a touchdown (+240, bet365 Sportsbook)
