Fans boo Detroit Lions off field during rough 1st quarter vs. last-place Giants

  • November 23, 2025

DETROIT – The Detroit Lions got booed off the field by their home fans during a rough first quarter against the last-place Giants.

The last time Lions fans saw their team at Ford Field, they were losing to J.J. McCarthy and the Minnesota Vikings as double-digit favorites.

Since then, the Lions have knocked around the lowly Commanders and lost to the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Coming into Sunday, the Lions had a 6-4 record and were on the outside of the NFC playoff picture.

This week felt like a get-right week for a team that entered 2025 with serious Super Bowl hopes. The New York Giants are the worst team in the NFC, with a 2-9 record and losses in each of their last five games.

Oh yeah, and the Giants are also missing their starting quarterback, leading rusher, and superstar wide receiver.

The first quarter didn’t go quite as planned, though. The Lions got out-gained by the giants 144-23 in yardage and found themselves down 10-0 heading into the second quarter.

Fans weren’t going to wait around to voice their displeasure. After the Lions went three-and-out on their second drive — thanks to an Amon-Ra St. Brown drop and a dump-off to David Montgomery and third and 13 — the fans booed the offense off the field.

The ensuing 10-play, 87-yard drive by the Giants didn’t make them feel any better, even though the defense did manage to hold them to a field goal.

Currently in third place in the NFC North Division, the Lions can’t afford to drop a home game to one of the worst teams in the league.
