The 2025 NFL schedule release has become a major event every season, and the yearly game calendar was released for the Seattle Seahawks and all other NFL teams this week.
After winning 10 games last season and still missing the playoffs, a retooled Seahawks squad will aim to put itself in better position to snare an NFC Wild Card berth.
The Seahawks made significant changes on offense, including bringing in new quarterback Sam Darnold and wide receiver Cooper Kupp, in addition to executing a strong draft.
Seattle can now look ahead to its season opener vs. the rival San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 7 at 1:05 p.m. ET on FOX. Let’s take a look at Seahawks NFL futures bets for the 2025 season with all game dates now made official by the NFL.
Best Seattle Seahawks NFL futures bets to make after NFL schedule releaseOver 8.5 wins: +120 at BetMGMTo finish in second in the NFC West: +225 at DraftKingsTo Make the Playoffs: +160 at bet365To lose in NFC Wild Card Round: +420 at FanDuel Jaxon Smith-Njigba to finish with 1,000+ yards: +145 at bet365Seattle Seahawks 2025 Futures Bets AnalysisOver 8.5 Wins
Odds: +120 at BetMGM Sportsbook
I would recommend putting at least 1.5 units on this futures bet. Seattle won 10 games last season, and swapping out Geno Smith for Darnold could be a wash at QB, while the rushing attack improves under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.
The offensive line, a significant area of concern, can also be better with a healthy Abe Lucas at left tackle and first-round rookie Gray Zabel likely slotting in at left guard.
Defense is the signature of head coach Mike MacDonald, and I don’t see the team slipping backwards in win totals when that unit might be better than last season.
The defensive line and secondary are deep. Ernest Jones IV is an underrated force at middle linebacker. Seattle’s defense might break out as a group this season and become one of the top units in the league. Rookie Nick Emmanwori is one to watch as an emerging force at safety.
As you will see in the full schedule later in this article, the Seahawks are underdogs in five of their first six games. There may be some good opportunities to consider on the game lines early in the season.
To finish in second in the NFC West
Odds: +225 at DraftKings Sportsbook
The NFC West is obviously a tough division. The 49ers can rebound with good health, and the Rams are always a highly challenging rival for the Seahawks. But Seattle is also ascending because of the defense and may not finish below both San Francisco and Los Angeles in 2025.
To make the playoffs
Odds: +160 at bet365
Last season, the Seahawks finished with the highest win total of a team to not make the playoffs in the current NFL format, which has been in place since 2002. I expect the team to take another step forward in progress by at least qualifying for the postseason.
To lose in NFC Wild Card Round
Odds: +420 at FanDuel Sportsbook
This would be a disappointing result, but Darnold has yet to prove himself in the postseason and the passing game might take a minor hit without Metcalf. The Seahawks will have strong tentpoles of better coaching, a quality running game and a strong defense, so making a deeper run in 2026 may be possible.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba to finish with 1,000+ yards
Odds: +145 at bet365
This wager seems like so much of a “layup” that I would put at least two units on it. “JSN” finished with 1,130 yards during a breakthrough 2024 campaign, and now he will the Seahawks’ clear No. 1 wide receiver with Metcalf gone and Kupp entering the season at 32 years old.
Impact of NFL schedule release on win totals
Opening against what should be a more formidable 49ers team won’t be easy, but the matchups get easier for the next three weeks before a trip to Tampa Bay. A pair of national TV matchups against the Texans a Commanders will provide firm tests.
Following Week 10, matchups vs. the Rams, Vikings and Falcons could help determine Seattle’s playoff destiny. Many of the spreads appear to denote close matchups for the most part, so if you are taking one side on a 1.5-point spread, also consider the moneyline for that team.
