FRISCO — So those elementary school students in Camden, N.J., who used punching bags with Cowboys’ pictures on them last week to show support for the Eagles? They have a connection to a Cowboys’ player.
Rookie safety Alijah Clark’s nephew, Jyion Clark, attends the New Jersey school.
In fact, Clark attended that same elementary school.
If you’re wondering, Alijah said his nephew, Jyion, didn’t participate in the punching contest.

“My sister had called me and I was looking [at] them security guards, they were security guards at my high school in the video,” Clark said on Monday. “I was looking, OK, I’m going to show you a good game. It was a little extra boost for me.”
Clark drew some attention from Sunday’s game for his hustle in the fourth quarter on a play that turned viral on social media.
In the fourth quarter, Clark was knocked down as a gunner running down the field by the Eagles Sydney Brown on a Cowboys punt.
Clark got up and kept running, eventually forcing returner Xavier Gipson to fumble.
Deep snapper Trent Sieg recovered the fumble.

“That’s just how you do anything,” Clark said of the play. “So I was taught how you do everything is how you do anything, pretty much. I’m from Camden, New Jersey, so I’ve been up and down my whole life, getting knocked down was pretty much nothing. It’s about getting back up and keep fighting.”
Clark, an undrafted free agent, received a game ball for his special teams efforts in a win over Las Vegas the previous game. He expects to get another one from coach Brian Schottenheimer for his work against the Eagles.
Clark said he does everything at high speed and joked that his teammates tell him he needs to slow down in practice.
“It’s what I see every day in practice,” Schottenheimer said. “It’s the way he’s wired. He loves football. He practices like that. If you watch special teams, watch Alijah. Even in walk-through. He’s got a little more pace to him. Because it’s important to him. And he realizes that’s how he’s going to make his mark.”
