HAYTI, Mo. (KFVS) – The Hayti Football Team will play in the State Semifinals this weekend–and the guys are also stepping up off the field.
Indians football players and cheerleaders teamed up with some members of the community on Monday, November 24 to give Thanksgiving boxes to families in need.
The students helped pack and deliver the boxes to each family car outside the high school, from both the Hayti and Caruthersville communities.
Head coach Dominique Robinson said the team enjoys being part of something special.
“It was beautiful, it was beautiful just to see people in the community happy, and hopefully they have a good meal on Thanksgiving and be with their families,” he said. “Times are tough, so they just wanna be part of something special, and our guys enjoyed it.”
Coach Robinson said around 40 meals were handed out.
Hayti will host Putnam County on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Class 1 State Semifinals.
