Terry Hollimon breaks down Seattle’s Week 12 road victory against Tennessee. Sponsored by Muckleshoot Casino Resort.

SEATTLE — The Seattle Seahawks bounced back with a 30–24 win over the Tennessee Titans, a game that looked like a blowout early but tightened late. Seattle jumped out to a commanding lead, but the Titans refused to fold.

“A lot of people were like, ‘Oh, we got this in the bag.’ They started doing other things… and it’s a tight game,” Terry Hollimon said. “It’s the NFL. The guys on the other team are still professionals even though they have a losing record. They get paid too.”

The Titans’ rookie quarterback impressed Seattle’s defense with his ability to extend plays.

“He was slippery. You think you have him in a grip, and then he’d get out and make a play,” Hollimon said.

After a rough outing against the Rams, Sam Darnold silenced critics with a strong performance.

“He comes out against L.A. and he has four interceptions… but he comes back versus the Titans and all he does is throw for 244 yards, two touchdowns and most importantly zero interceptions,” Hollimon said. “This is a guy that’s come in and done some incredible things for us. I think he’s going to be the guy to lead us for the foreseeable future.”

Running back Kenneth Walker III delivered explosive plays.

“He had one of those days whereas a running back, you feel like you can break every single play,” Hollimon said.

But the biggest headline came from wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who broke the franchise’s single‑season receiving record with six games still left.

“We’re talking about great receivers like Doug Baldwin, Steve Largent, DK Metcalf… he already broke the single season record,” Hollimon said. Smith-Njigba finished with 167 yards and two touchdowns.

Seattle’s offense left points on the field.

“We were able to get down in the red zone, but we could not convert,” Hollimon said. “We had to settle for three a couple of times.”

Penalties also hurt the team’s momentum.

“Those are unacceptable penalties before the snap,” Hollimon said. “You know what the snap is… there’s no reason for you to jump as a professional.”

While Smith-Njigba’s record‑breaking day was historic, Hollimon gave his “Player of the Game” nod to linebacker Patrick O’Connell.

“He was on the practice squad… and all he does is show up and show out. Nine tackles, four solo tackles and a sack. The guy was everywhere,” Hollimon said.

Next week, Seattle faces the Minnesota Vikings—Darnold’s former team. Hollimon predicts a close contest.

“No matter what he says and no matter what they say in the media, he’s going to have a chip on his shoulder. He’s going to want to show out,” he said.

With Darnold regaining form, Jason rewriting the record books, and O’Connell stepping up from the practice squad, the Seahawks head into their matchup with Minnesota carrying confidence and momentum.
