A journeyman NFL wide receiver has found a new home in the AFC East.

According to multiple reports, the Buffalo Bills are signing wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who was waived by the New Orleans Saints last week.

“Former Saints WR Brandin Cooks, now a free agent after he cleared waivers, has signed with the Bills. A new weapon for Josh Allen,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said on X.

The Bills will be Cook’s sixth NFL team since he entered the league with the Saints in 2014. The 32-year-old has also played for the New England Patriots, Los Angeles Rams, Houston Texans, and Dallas Cowboys before returning to New Orleans in 2025.

Cooks has tallied six 1,000-yard campaigns in his career, his last coming with the Texans in 2021. The Oregon State product has been underwhelming in 2025, posting just 165 yards on 19 receptions. However, he did play on an atrocious Saints’ offense with abysmal quarterback play.

Buffalo desperately needs more consistent playmakers for quarterback Josh Allen, as Khalil Shakir has been the only reliable weapon for the team this year. Cooks should provide a nice boost to Joe Brady’s offense and give Allen a dynamic playmaker with savvy veteran experience.

The Bills will travel to Acrisure Stadium to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. We’ll see if Cooks ends up making his debut with the franchise this weekend.
