GLENDALE – At 3-8, changes seem inevitable for the Arizona Cardinals. From playoff hopefuls to eyeing a top 10 pick, Arizona’s philosophy in the final six games of the 2025 season will be a huge indicator of how the franchise will be moving forward this offseason to make improvements. Many experts and fans are surprised that the Cardinals haven’t made changes yet, with either a coaching change or any significant changes to the roster.

However, Gannon spoke about that belief to the media on Monday and why a change of personnel won’t fix all of the team’s issues.

Gannon on why switching staff won’t work:

Gannon believes the issue is bigger than just systematic. Arizona has struggled in the clutch and giving up explosive plays that are due to small errors by the defense as a whole. The third-year Cardinals coach sees how close the team is to making the leap to switch some of these close games results in their favor. Arizona has six one-score losses, if just a few plays went in the team’s favor, Gannon could be talking about a playoff push.

The team is 11 weeks into the season still talking about fixing their execution in the clutch, which has been a problem since Week 1. Gannon remains consistent in what he wants to see improve from his team, but saying and doing the same thing over and over again to yield the same result might drive the fans to insanity.

A change in coaching staff within the franchise might not change the issues facing this team. Regardless, fans are growing restless, and whether it leads to positive results or not, they will want significant change in the coming months.
