The Pittsburgh Steelers recently traded their wide receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys for a third-round pick in the 2026 Draft and a 2027 Day Three pick swap.

Now, Mike Tomlin’s camp is reportedly interested in acquiring New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave to pair with DK Metcalf, whom the Steelers traded for in March.

The rumors rose when Adam Crowley of 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh made a post with just the word “Chris Olave” first and then followed it with another saying, “To be clear. I had someone who would be in the know text me “Chris Olave.”

Further, John Franscella added that the teams “are far apart on any type of deal,” but echoed that the Steelers are interested.

“The Pittsburgh Steelers are trying to acquire talented WR Chris Olave via trade with the Saints, they love Olave but the 2 sides are still far apart on any type of deal” He posted on X.

Following the May 7 Pickens trade, Pittsburgh’s receiving depth behind Metcalf consists of Roman Wilson, Calvin Austin III and veteran Robert Woods, none of whom have yet emerged as a true No. 1 option.

Olave is a former Buckeye and holds the record for the most career touchdowns received(35). He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 2022 and only recently joined the Saints camp.

With Will Howard and Jack Sawyer both signing a contract with Pittsburgh this year, we could see Olave beside them if rumors are to go by. It is very early to think about it, though.
