The Washington Commanders may not have their star quarterback when they host the Denver Broncos on Sunday, but they could have their top pass catchers ready to go for the first time in months.

All three of Terry McLaurin, Deebo Samuel and Noah Brown practiced on Wednesday for the first time together since Week 2. The former All-Pro with the 49ers, Samuel, is the lone player of the three to stay mostly healthy this season but even he missed Week 7. Meanwhile, the two-time Pro Bowler McLaurin has only played in four games and Brown has been limited to two.

Pretty much by de facto, Samuel has been the team’s leading pass-catcher by catches (53), yards (470) and touchdowns (5). McLaurin’s five-straight seasons of hitting the 1,000-yard mark will likely end. And the hope for Brown to be a third-fiddle after establishing himself as a strong option for Dallas and Houston has been all but thwarted by injury. The trio may not play in the game but there’s a possibility they do for the first time since early in the season.

The Commanders’ health issues, both with their targets and their standout thrower of the ball, Jayden Daniels, are a big reason they’ve fallen from the NFC Championship Game to 3-8 this season.

The Broncos, coming off the bye, may have their big-time defensive pieces back to match the Commanders’ health. Both cornerback Patrick Surtain II and linebacker Alex Singleton hope to play in the game.
