The Post has been granted unprecedented access to the world of the Giants scouting department. In Part 5 of this continuing series, we meet Blaise Bell, in his second year as a Southwest area scout. His territory consists of Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California and Hawaii. A native of Houston, he was a two-time All-Patriot League wide receiver at Holy Cross. For three years, he was the Giants representative for the BLESTO scouting service, used by several NFL teams. Bell, 29, is single and lives in Austin, Texas.

General manager Joe Schoen on Bell: “One of those young scouts that came up through the New York Giants system. The disadvantage of them being a BLESTO scout, for us, is they read reports for seven or eight other teams so there’s other GMs sitting in there hearing these guys’ reports and are like ‘Man, that guy’s pretty good, I should hire him as an area scout.’ He dominated the BLESTO stuff and earned a promotion to an area scout. He was trained right, he was raised right in the business and has a really high upside as an evaluator.’’

Q: Were you the area scout for Cam Skattebo?

A: Yessir, I did see a lot of Skatt. I was there [Arizona State] a couple times throughout the year.
