Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has served his one game suspension and even sent out an apology, but he never mentioned Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Jalen Ramsey by name.
While Ramsey was not named in the apology, Chase also added that there are only certain things he will let slide, and what Ramsey did and said was not one of them.
“There’s stuff you’re going to allow and stuff you’re not going to allow,” Chase said. “There’s a limit to everything. I don’t really have nothing to prove with who I am. Either you like me or you don’t. I could care less. . . . I’m going out there to be the same player I am and play football. At the end of the day, nobody gonna stop me from who I am.”
Ramsey was ejected for throwing a punch, but later video showcased that Chase spit on Ramsey. Ramsey’s name did not appear in the ruling, meaning was not suspended, but he will still faced a hefty fine.
Ramsey spoke with conviction and venom about Chase.
“I was still a little too nice if I’m keeping it honest with you,” he said.
Asked if spitting was the most disrespectful thing a player can do, he responded, “It is … it’s a [expletive] disgrace.”
Ramsey moved to safety before the team’s game against the Indianapolis Colts and has been excellent since that moment, bringing stability to the secondary.
