The Seahawks signed Akers on Wednesday, Brady Henderson of ESPN reports.

Akers is headed to Seattle after being cut from Minnesota’s practice squad last week. The 26-year-old carried the ball five times for 19 yards in three appearances with the Vikings. He should serve as the Seahawks’ No. 3 running back for Sunday’s matchup against his former team, as George Holani is doubtful with a hamstring injury.
