The Ohio State Buckeyes have always been one of the biggest players in the college football recruiting world. Led by Ryan Day, their dominance has been even more prominent.
Looking ahead to the 2026 recruiting class, Day has another elite recruiting class coming to Ohio State. One of the main feature players of the class has been five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr.
Henry, who is the son of former NFL wide receiver Chris Henry, is the top wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class. According to On3 Sports, he is also the No. 7 overall player in the nation. However, the Buckeyes may be facing a dangerous situation.

On3 previously had Henry listed as 96 percent likely to stick with his commitment to Ohio State. That has now changed.
A late push is being made to flip Henry from Ohio State. That push is coming from the West Virginia Mountaineers, who his dad played for during his college days. Now, West Virginia, is given an 18.2 percent chance of landing the young phenom.
While the Buckeyes were at one point given an around 96 percent chance of bringing Henry in, they now sit at just 30.8 percent. That doesn’t mean that Henry won’t end up playing for Ohio State, but there is a very real chance that he could change his mind.
Other teams are in the mix as well when it comes to Henry. Most notably, the Oregon Ducks have tried hard to convince Henry to flip his commitment over the last few months. So far, that hasn’t happened, but anything is possible.
Day and company clearly have work to do when it comes to Henry. They have to figure out a way to keep his commitment and have him become the next big thing at wide receiver. Simply thinking about a duo of Henry and Jeremiah Smith playing together next season would be a dream offense with Julian Sayin throwing them the football.

Only time will tell whether or not the Buckeyes can convince Henry to stay committed in Columbus.
In the meantime, Ohio State is preparing for a huge matchup to close out the regular season against the arch-rival Michigan Wolverines. A win would put the Buckeyes in the Big Ten championship game, but they have lost the last four straight matchups against the Wolverines.
