The New England Patriots were the first team to 10 wins this season and have rolled off nine straight victories. The team has been bitten by the injury bug and welcomes the New York Giants on Monday night to try to make it 10 in a row.

It’ll be a late one under the lights at Gillette Stadium, with kickoff set for 8:15 p.m., and the weather is looking mighty cold.

Game-time temperatures will likely range between 28 and 33 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. There will be a slight breeze, but it shouldn’t be strong enough to impact the kicking or passing game.

With an existing system on Monday morning, there could be a leftover flurry that could pop up during the game.

For those of you setting up shop around dinnertime Monday, we’ll see mostly cloudy skies with temperatures near freezing. So you’ll want to make sure that you dress in layers to weather the cold air.

As I mentioned above, there will be a storm system exiting the region during the day Monday. This will likely lead to partly cloudy skies, but there should be plenty of clouds around during game time.

Winds should subside quickly Monday afternoon, leaving the evening winds below 10 mph. With a bit of a balancing act in the atmosphere on Monday, there could be a rogue gust of 15 or 20 mph, but that seems unlikely.

How the Patriots fare under the same weather conditions

Let’s break down how the Patriots play at home under similar weather conditions:

• The Patriots are 5-1 playing at home under the same weather conditions in December, dating back to 2000.

• The Patriots are 14-2 playing at home under the same weather conditions during any month of the year, dating back to 2000.

• The Patriots have not played the Giants under the same weather conditions before, but are 7-5 against them all-time in the regular season.
