In Week 13 of the NFL season, the Seattle Seahawks are facing off against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 4:05 p.m. EST.
Kenneth Walker III is in the midst of his fourth season with the team, after they drafted him with the 41st overall pick in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. This week, he has been a limited participant with a glute injury. Here’s his injury status and whether he will play this week.
Will Kenneth Walker III Play Against the Minnesota Vikings?
In Week 12, Walker popped up on the team’s injury report later in the week and was designated as questionable for the game with a glute injury. Despite the injury, Walker was still the lead back.
In Week 13’s injury report, he’s been a limited participant for the first two days of practice this week, once again due to an identified glute injury. All we know is that he has a glute injury, and there is not much more information available about how he injured it.
Despite the injury, Walker will likely start again this week, considering he still received more touches than backup Zach Charbonnet last week when the injury first popped up.
This season, Walker has played in 11 games for the Seahawks. In 147 attempts so far, he’s rushed for 677 yards and four touchdowns. Additionally, he’s caught 17 passes for 157 yards. His best week this season, according to PFSN RBi, came in Week 2 of the NFL season against the AFC North’s Pittsburgh Steelers. That week, he received a letter grade of B+ and an impact score of 88.2 for rushing 13 times for 105 yards and a touchdown, along with one pass for 13 yards.
A lot of fans this season are frustrated with Walker’s role in the offense, especially when you compare it to backup Charbonnet.
Charbonnet, like Walker, was also picked in the second round of the NFL Draft; however, Charbonnet was selected with the 52nd pick in 2023.
In 10 games this season, he has 385 yards and a whopping seven touchdowns on 111 rushing attempts. Additionally, he’s caught another nine receptions for 67 yards. His best week came in Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals, according to PFSN’s RBi. That week, he rushed 14 times for 83 yards and a touchdown, earning a letter grade of C and an overall impact score of 76.1.
While Walker should play this week, I’d keep an eye on Charbonnet’s workload. Depending on the situation, the team tends to favor one back over another, although they usually have a pretty consistent split of touches.
