The Ravens shook up their offensive line Thursday night against the Cincinnati Bengals, giving rookie Emery Jones Jr. a look in his first NFL game action.
Jones rotated with Andrew Vorhees, who had started the previous 11 games, at left guard. Jones played 16 snaps (27%) while Vorhees played 44 (73%).
Pro Football Focus (PFF) gave Jones a 47.9 grade, with better marks in pass protection (67.6) than run blocking (45.6). Jones was flagged for a holding penalty on one run.
“I think I had a good night,” Jones said after the Ravens’ 32-14 loss. “I had one holding call that I wish I could get back, but other than that, I felt like I played pretty decently.
“It felt really good to get out there with the guys and show what I can do, display my talent a little bit [and] show that I can help the team a little bit.”
Left tackle Ronnie Stanley said he thought Jones “played great” besides the penalty.
“The effort he gave, he showed that he can play this league,” Stanley said.
