Terms & Conditions Rams Seek 10th Win of Season
The Los Angeles Rams are eying the top spot in the entire NFC. They stand at 9-2 and are on pace to have a bye in the first round of the playoffs. The Rams have not lost since October 2nd against the 49ers. They posted a 21-19 home win against the Seahawks two weeks ago, but didn’t cover. Next, the Rams were tasked with another tough opponent and came away with a 34-7 home win against the Buccaneers in a game that had the Rams marked as seven-point favorites. The Rams have covered the spread in three of their past five games.
Matt Stafford is having a magnificent season. The 37-year-old QB has reached 273 passing yards in six games this season. He netted 273 yards last week and has delivered 2830 passing yards and a 30:2 TD to INT ratio. Los Angeles will run more than pass. Kyren Williams has been consistent, amassing 50 or more yards in 10 of 11 games. The 25-year-old RB has issued 796 rushing yards on the season.
The receiving core leans quite heavily on Puka Nacua. The 24-year-old WR has yielded 90 or more yards on six occasions this season. Nacua has recorded 947 receiving yards on the season. Davante Adams has also been solid, netting 62 yards last week and 631 on the year. The Los Angeles offense managed 333 yards last week. They are averaging 358 yards per game.
The Rams’ defense has been steady most of the season. The group has conceded 21 or fewer points in four of its past five games. They kept Tampa Bay to 193 yards in the win last week, bringing their season average to only 311 yards per game. Nate Landman has made 98 tackles, and safety Kamren Kinchens has deflected six passes. The pass defense is 13th, while the rush defense is also a strength of the group, standing 13th.
Los Angeles is averaging 27.8 points on the season, ranking them sixth. The Rams are conceding an average of 16.3 points, leading the NFL.
Key Injuries for Rams: LB Byron Young (knee) is questionable. Has 9 sacks. S Kamren Kinchens (shoulder) is questionable. Has 37 tackles. Panthers Eye Third Straight Win
The Carolina Panthers are glad to be home after two road games. Carolina has been better than expected this season and is only one game behind the Buccaneers atop the NFC South standings. The Panthers were dealt a home loss by the Saints earlier this month and answered with a road win against the Falcons. Next, the Panthers were charged with a 20-9 road defeat by the 49ers last week in a meeting that had the Panthers tabbed as seven-point dogs. The Panthers have covered the spread in two of their past five games.
Bryce Young has improved compared to last season. The 24-year-old QB has connected on 62% of his passes in three of his past five games. Young registered 169 passing yards last week and has 2131 passing yards and a 15:9 TD to INT ratio. Rico Dowdle is on his way to another 100 yards this season. The 27-year-old running back has surpassed 100 yards in three games this season. Dowdle was quiet in the defeat last week and leads the squad with 871 rushing yards on the year. Chubba Hubbard can be a threat at times. He has contributed with 350 yards.
The receiving core is subpar, except for Tetairoa McMillan, who has been dominant. The 22-year-old contributed with 130 yards against the Falcons two weeks ago. McMillan has registered 783 receiving yards. The Carolina offense is below average. They recorded 230 yards last week and are only averaging 307 yards per game.
The Panthers’ defense has been key this season. The unit has conceded 21 or fewer points in three of its past five games. Last week, they conceded 340 yards against San Francisco. The Panthers are keeping opponents to an average of 327 yards per game. Christian Rozeboom is a huge part of the success, making 91 tackles. He did not play last week due to a hip injury and did not practice on Wednesday. He is considered questionable. Panthers’ CB Mike Jackson has deflected 12 passes. The pass defense is ranked 16th, while the rush defense stands 19th.
Carolina is scoring an average of 18 points on the season, ranking them 29th. The Panthers are keeping opponents to 22.4 points, marking them 15th in the NFL.
Key Injuries for Panthers: G Chandler Zavala (calf) is questionable. CB Jaycee Horn (concussion) is questionable. LB Christian Rozeboom (hip/hamstring) is questionable. Has 43 tackles. CB Corey Thornton (fibula) was placed on the IR. Rams vs. Panthers PickSpread Pick for Rams vs. Panthers Carolina Panthers +10.5 (5 units)
The Los Angeles Rams are winning games, but three of their past four games have been at home. They only beat the Seahawks by two points two weeks ago. The Carolina Panthers are a motivated young team eying first in the division. The Panthers are 0.5 games behind the Bucs for the top spot. The Panthers are strong at home, where they are sporting a 3-2 record.
Furthermore, the Panthers’ defense is keeping them in games. The Rams have been opting for the pass heavily. Stafford is attempting about 35 passes per game. The Panthers have a strong pass defense, which is keeping opponents to an average of only 211 passing yards per game. Also, the Rams’ defense has not been quite as effective. They have squandered at least 390 total yards in two of their past three games. Bryce Young has connected on 66% of his passes at home this season and is up against a subpar Rams’ pass defense that is ranked 21st in the NFL.
Over/Under Pick for Rams vs. Panthers
I expect a ton of scoring. Los Angeles has been dangerous, averaging 33 points in its past five games. Not many teams have been able to contain Stafford. They have been just as strong on the road, where they are averaging 30 points this season. The Panthers’ defense has squandered 47 points in their past two games.
In addition, Carolina has been a threat at home, averaging 21 points this season. They scored 30 points against the Falcons two weeks ago. Also, Carolina uses a quick offense that stands 10th in the NFL in plays per game. The over is a convincing 5-2 in the Panthers’ past seven home games.
