Steelers GameDay Cheat Sheet is a weekly series featuring a quick glance at the upcoming Steelers game, including odds, records, things to watch for, and how to watch/listen to the game.
Buffalo Bills (7-4) at Pittsburgh Steelers (6-5)
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills are set to renew one of the AFC’s most competitive rivalries, with history, playoff implications, and star power all converging on Acrisure Stadium. These two franchises have met 30 times overall, splitting postseason battles while trading stretches of dominance in the regular season.
Buffalo enters with a balanced attack led by Josh Allen and James Cook, while Pittsburgh counters with veteran Aaron Rodgers and a defense anchored by T.J. Watt. The numbers tell the story of two teams built differently—Buffalo’s top-ranked rushing offense against Pittsburgh’s opportunistic takeaway margin, Allen’s dual-threat explosiveness against Rodgers’ precision passing, and playmakers on both sides who have already left their mark in past meetings.
With both clubs fighting for positioning in a crowded AFC race, Sunday’s clash is more than just another chapter in the series—it’s a test of resilience, execution, and which team can seize momentum when it matters most.

Series Notes
Sunday’s game will mark the 31st overall and 27th regular-season meeting between the Steelers and Bills.
Pittsburgh holds a four-game advantage in the overall series (17-13) and a four-game lead in the regular-season series (15-11).
The Steelers and Bills have split their four meetings in the postseason (2-2).
Sunday’s game will be the eighth regular-season meeting between the two teams in November.
The Steelers own a one-game advantage in the regular-season series (4-3) in November.
Sunday’s game will be the fourth regular-season meeting in Pittsburgh between the two teams in November.
The Steelers own a three-game advantage in the regular-season series (3-0) in Pittsburgh in November.
Pittsburgh and Buffalo played in the divisional round of the playoffs in 1974 (W, 32-14), 1992 (L, 3-24) and 1995 (W, 40-21), and Wild Card in 2023 (L, 17-31).
The Steelers and Bills have played one another six times in the last seven years, including playoffs (did not meet in 2024), but Sunday’s game is just the second in Pittsburgh over the same span.
Pittsburgh and Buffalo have played four consecutive years twice in each franchise’s history (2019-22 and 1991-94). The Bills took three of four between 2019-22, while they split the four meetings in 1991-94.
Pittsburgh has also faced the following seven non-AFC North foes in at least four straight seasons: Denver (1988-91), Indianapolis (2014-17), Kansas City (2014-18; 1996-99, 1985-89, 1978-82), San Diego (1982-86), Miami (1987-90; 1993-96), New England (2015-19) and Seattle (1991-94).
Interestingly enough, Pittsburgh actually played the Chargers 10 straight years (1987-96).
The Steelers have lost four of the last five meetings in the series: 2019 (L, 10-17 in Pittsburgh), 2020 (L, 15-26 in Buffalo), 2021 (W, 23-16 in Buffalo), 2022 (L, 3-38 in Buffalo) and 2023 (L, 17-31 Wild Card in Buffalo).

Pregame: Who needs this win more: the Steelers or Bills?
The Pittsburgh Steelers enter Week 13 at 6–5, clinging to a division lead and fighting to stay ahead in the AFC playoff race. The Buffalo Bills arrive at 7–4, still dangerous but plagued by inconsistency and questions about whether they can truly contend down the stretch. Both teams are coming off tough losses, and both face mounting pressure to prove themselves.
In this episode, Joe and Brian dive into the urgency behind Sunday’s matchup. For the Steelers, this game is about survival. A win would validate their adjustments on offense and keep them in the hunt, while a loss at home could be devastating in a crowded AFC.
We’ll break down the key matchups, including T.J. Watt and the Steelers’ pass rush against Allen’s mobility, and how Pittsburgh’s secondary handles Buffalo’s receiving corps. We’ll visit recent history, explore how this game could reshape the playoff picture. By the end of the show, you’ll know exactly why this clash is more than just another Sunday afternoon game.
